Editor-in-Chief Isabella Ford [R] at the Contribution Women Make to a Safer Community conference
What is She Works?
She Works is a website created to celebrate all the wonderful career women in the world, whilst providing advice for any other women who are unsure what they want to do, are nervous about changing career path or are daunted about a particularly male-dominated career.
Who runs the website?
The founder and editor-in-chief of the site is Isabella Ford, who currently works full-time in a content marketing role. There are also a number of interns who help with the site, which you can read more about on our Team page.
Why was it started?
Having looked for internships with absolutely no idea what she wanted to intern in, Isabella came up with the idea in the summer of 2015 during her second year of university. She tried to find a resource on the internet that featured interviews with women in various professions, detailing how they got to where they were today and what advice they'd like to pass on. Finding the bare minimum, she decided to start it herself, with friend and co-founder Katie Whitford. Thus, She Works was born.
Where are you based?
Currently, all over the UK. But mostly in London.
I am/know someone who wouldn't mind being interviewed about their career - would you like to interview me/them?
Yes please! Just email us at so that we are able to get into contact with you to arrange an interview date/time.
Can I intern for She Works?
Of course you can! Once again, email and start a conversation. The website is non-for-profit, so unfortunately you won't be paid, but it's great work experience and you get to meet some amazing individuals.
How else can I get involved?
There are two other ways we can work together:
1. If you're a part of a company, you can sponsor us!
2. We are also available to run workshops on women in careers and the website itself.
If you're interested in either of these opportunities, just email us at .
